AUTHOR
Linden Ontjes lives and works in Seattle, WA. She has published her poetry in Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, Nimrod, Arcade, The Louisville Review, The Exquisite Corpse, Poetry Daily, The Comstock Review, RE:AL, Atlanta Review and many other literary journals. She has served as Poetry Editor for the Seattle Review; as General Director of Eleventh Hour Productions; and on the board of directors for literary arts and community organizations.
Linden creates poetry mashups that include visual, theatrical, and literary elements. Her most recent projects include: Alfred Jarry’s Interior Designs and Pataphysical Window Treatments at Smoke Farm; A Cup o’ Joe at Bumbershoot; Miss Fortune and the Misfortune Cookies at Synchronicity: An Indie Press Sideshow ; The National Grilled Cheese Poetry Booth at the 2005 Seattle Poetry Festival; and Limericks on Sticks, an installation of John Haines’ political protest limericks on ersatz Burma Shave signs along the route to the Dredge Festival in Fairbanks, Alaska. Her other performance, directorial, and writing credits include: Mr. Gigi's Press-On Nail Salon at The Red Zone; Friends of the LA River Unisex Bathing Suit Competition at the DADA exhibition Downtown Lives! ; Waltz of the Mobile Food Vehicles with the LA Cacophony Society and the avant-classical trio Fat & Fucked Up at FAR BAZZAR; and "Universal Family Album" for Creative Time (New York State and City Arts Councils) at The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Linden received her law degree from Harvard Law School and formerly practiced entertainment law for Loeb and Loeb in Los Angeles.
